As Executive Director and CEO of Origo Education since 1997, James has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
Established in 1997, Origo Education is a company which provides quality professional learning and innovative mathematics resources for school teachers. They offer a wide variety of learning materials as well as workshops and conferences. Origo Education serves the education industry in Australia, Canada and the United States through the use of their visual learning aids.
Mr. Burnett strives to lift the profile of mathematics through dynamic professional development, ORIGO's Groundworks conferences, and the development of quality, research-based classroom resources. He is a regular presenter of workshops and speaks at conferences throughout Australia, New Zealand, and North America.
James is the author and co-author of over 200 mathematics books for teachers and children aged 6 to 12. Among those books is the award-winning GO Maths series, a core mathematics program that received an Excellence in Education award from the Australian Publishers Association in 2005 and was short-listed for the same award in both 2007 and 2008.
During his collegiate career, James earned a Master's degree in Mathematics. He is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers, Queensland Association of Math Teachers, and the Mathematical Association of New South Wales.
