Healthcare Executive Joins The Stanford Who's Who Community
Stanford Who's Who welcomes Andrea B. Willard to the ranks of premier professionals as a result of her sensational work in the Healthcare Industry.
PORT CHARLOTTE, FL, August 14, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who welcomes Andrea B. Willard to the ranks of premier professionals as a result of her sensational work in the Healthcare Industry. As Executive Director of Haven Drop-In Center Inc., as well as throughout her incredible professional career, Andrea has routinely demonstrated the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
The Haven Drop-In Center is a mental health wellness and recovery center for the empowerment, wellness and recovery of the mentally and chemically imbalanced people of the Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Florida area. The center started under the auspices of a Community Mental Health Behavioral Center in 1992. In 2006 they were granted nonprofit status, and on March 15th, 2008 they broke away from their parent company after winning a contract from the state of Florida. Their mission and purpose is to offer an informal and homelike atmosphere to its members, present and former consumers of mental health services, and their families. The facility is a safe, drug and alcohol free environment.
They provide members with a non-threatening and comfortable community gathering place where people can socialize with those who share similar experiences. They also offer members the opportunity to participate in all phases of its operation. The Haven Drop-In Center has a Board of Directors that helps raise funds and govern the organization. The center encourages volunteer leadership and personal growth through empowerment of members to participate in setting the rules and guidelines for the operation of the center.
It is of the utmost importance to the Haven Drop-In Center that they acquire funds from private contributors for helping the mentally ill homeless, mentally ill Vets, and all of the mentally ill of the local community. They have simple basic needs such as paper towels, toilet paper, floor cleaner, mundane everyday basic needs that their center would like to have in order to save money. They need computers for their members to use to find jobs on the internet as well as develop their computer skills, and connect with family and friends.
Andrea began as an administrative assistant and worked her way up to her position as Executive Director of The Haven Drop-In Center. She attributes her success to her personal 7 year relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ. When she turned everything over to Him her life began to change and she began to succeed whereas she had only merely survived in the past. Although Andrea's education is limited, she has found success through personal study and a knack for administration which has allowed her to succeed beyond all expectations.
Andrea possesses exceptional expertise in mental wellness. She hopes that within the next few years her efforts will engage people of all walks of life to express how people like her caused them to reconsider a negative outlook or opinion of the mentally ill. During her educational career, she studied Psychology at Mercer College as well as Edison Community College. In the time away from her busy schedule, Andrea greatly enjoys gardening and reading.
