Arthur C. Canizares Recognized as a Leading Tennis Instructor

Arthur C. Canizares has dedicated over 20 years to the game of tennis

    FREDERICKSBURG, VA, May 15, 2010 /Coaching - Mentoring PR News/ --Arthur C. Canizares, Assistant Tennis Coach for the University of Mary Washington, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in tennis instruction.

An avid tennis player, Arthur C. Canizares has over two decades of professional involvement in the sport. While pursuing a career in education outside Virginia - he was a substitute teacher and assistant athletic director at a high school - he made the bold decision to return to his hometown of Fredericksburg and dedicate his professional life to tennis. Mr. Canizares has spent the last five years with the University of Mary Washington as the school's Assistant Tennis Coach. Best noted for his skills in match coaching, Mr. Canizares works extensively with the women's team to improve tennis stroke and create playing strategies. He assists the head coach with recruitment, manages all practices and tournaments, and tends to equipment.

In addition to his involvement with the University of Mary Washington, Mr. Canizares has been the head tennis instructor for the Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Department for over 10 years. In fact, he has managed to generate a great deal of enthusiasm in the sport. Throughout his tenure with the organization, tennis clinic enrollment has grown in size from 10 to 25 students.

Mr. Canizares holds a master's degree in secondary education from the College of William & Mary and a bachelor's degree in English from Duke University. He is a certified tennis professional and is affiliated with the United States Tennis Association as a Tennis Official, the United States Racquet Stringers Association and the Professional Tennis Registry.
