Dedicated Councillor Joins The Distinguished Community Of Stanford Who's Who

Graeme Legge has been recognized by Stanford Who's Who as a result of his exceptional effort in local government.

    EMERALD, VIC, AUSTRALIA, March 18, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Graeme Legge has been recognized by Stanford Who's Who as a result of his exceptional effort in local government. As Ranges Ward Councillor for the Cardinia Shire Council, as well as throughout his brilliant 50 year career, Graeme has consistently performed at an extraordinary level.

Cardinia Shire is divided into four wards, with seven Councillors elected to represent residents and taxpayers in four-year terms. A Mayor is elected each year from the group of Councillors.

Graeme is Cardinia Shire Council's Mayor for 2010 having been elected unanimously in December of 2009. He was born and raised in the area making him a perfect fit for the prestigious position. Councillor Legge is also the longest serving representative of the Council.

Through his impressive resume of community service it is quite obvious that Graeme is extremely fond of the local area. He provisioned a reticulated water scheme and sewerage scheme, is a spectacular student of local history and has been active with assisting youth throughout his career.

Councilor Legge has an enormous interest in environmental issues, fire and other emergency protection, the strengthening of communities and community building initiatives. His love for the people of the area is quite apparent through the fact that he is a member of South East Palliative Care which is the Inter-Council Aboriginal Consultative Committee and the Cardinia Foundation.

Graeme earned a Bachelor's Degree from Deakin University. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Councillor Legge has also been the recipient of a number of awards including the Medal of the Order of Australia and the Centenary Medal. He is also a Certified Justice of the Peace. Graeme is an avid student of history and greatly enjoys gardening in the time away from his bust schedule.
