Dr. Slenders, a Strategic Advisor, Executive Coach and Senior Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management Consultant, has over 20 years of experience providing strategic advice and counsel to senior leaders of organizations undertaking significant change. Change, in the form of individual change or organizational change, is Dr. Slenders' passion. Dr. Slenders received a Ph.D. from Capella University. Her dissertation topic was "Chief Executive Officers and Their Trusted Advisor Relationships: A Qualitative Study from the CEO's Perspective" and her research was conducted with CEOs in Canada and the U.S. Dr. Slenders also holds a Master of Science in Management from Boston University, and Bachelor's degrees in Education and Physical Education from the University of Calgary. Additionally, she is accredited as a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and Certified Professional Coach (CPC). She is a member of the International Coach Federation, the Women's Executive Network, the Canadian Association of Management Consultants, Calgary Association of Professional Coaches, and numerous other organizations.
Commitment to community service is a tenet of Dr. Slenders' belief system. She served as President of the Strategic Leadership Forum, was the Executive Director of the Alberta Association of Services for Children and Families (AASCF), is a volunteer with CentrePoint Non-Profit Management, was a partner with Calgary Social Venture Partners, is an InnoWest conference committee member, and played numerous senior leadership roles in the sport of speedskating. Dr. Slenders also served as an Alberta sport ambassador to the Peoples' Republic of China and was a key volunteer with the Calgary Winter Olympics Speedskating Committee.
