Marie LaBollita, SC Recognized for Excellence in Ministry Leadership

Marie LaBollita, SC is the president of Sacred Threads: "Weaving Spiritually where Women Gather"

NEWTON, MA, April 27, 2010 /Coaching - Mentoring PR News/ --Marie LaBollita, SC, President of Sacred Threads Center for Spirituality, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in ministry leadership.

Deeply in tune with her religious beliefs and spiritual outlook, Marie LaBollita proudly lends 46 years of experience in religious education and parish ministry to Sacred Threads Center for Spirituality. Established in 2008, Sacred Threads was designed by Marie and co-founder Rosemary Mulvihill, RSM to help women voice their experiences, to "articulate their spirituality, to create possibilities for their lives and integrate their insights into everyday life." Marie utilizes her background as a pastoral counselor to manage support groups for grief, loss, separation or divorce. Marie also provides spiritual direction and pastoral counseling. She leads retreats, workshops, women's circles of reflection and dialogue and coordinates annual conferences.

When Cambridge Who's Who caught up with Marie in March for an exclusive sit-down interview, she recalled having always been a good listener - an attribute that helps her ministry thrive. Having the ability to encourage women to talk openly about their hopes, fears and experiences serves to create connections not only with their own spiritual selves, but with others, thus fostering reflection and positive life change. Moving forward, Marie intends to expand on the services offered by Sacred Threads and offer additional support for the unemployed and homeless women.

Marie holds a master's degree in religious education and pastoral ministry from Emmanuel College, earned in 1978, and a bachelor of arts from Mount Saint Vincent University, earned in 1964. She is a Sister of Charity of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
