Ann Vaughan Named to Exclusive Membership Organization

MEBANE, NC, August 12, 2009 /Coaching - Mentoring PR News/ -- Ann Vaughan, County Commissioner for Alamance County, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
As county commissioner for Alamance County, Ms. Vaughan specializes in politics and teaching. She sets policies, handles budgeting and assists in determining where funds are allocated. After majoring in psychology, she began teaching at a pre-school in Hawaii, then moved to North Carolina where she taught at a grammar and middle school. She moved on to teach high school psychology, sociology, economics and politics. She attributes her success to her determination, listening skills and honesty.
Ms. Vaughan received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from Richmond Professional Institute of the College of William and Mary in 1961. She has been honored with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, North Carolina's highest civilian award and has appeared in 'Who's Who Among America's Teachers' five times. She is a member of the National Education Association and Retired School Personnel and a member and past president of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Sorority. She intends to remain active in the community after she retires.
