Cindy C. St. John Named Professional of the Year in History Instruction
NAPLES, FL, July 21, 2009 /Coaching - Mentoring PR News/ -- Cindy C. St. John, former middle school history teacher at First Baptist Academy, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in History Instruction. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.
A dedicated educator, Cindy C. St. John just completed her sixth year with First Baptist Academy in Naples, Florida. At her former post, she excelled in teaching American, ancient and world history to children in sixth, seventh and eighth grade. In addition to her responsibilities in the classroom, Ms. St. John created lesson plans, hosted guest speakers, arranged trips and created and managed an informative web page for her classes. Presently, Ms. St. John is working on starting her own tutoring business. She will offer not only tutoring services but provide academic assistance to parents who are homeschooling their children.
Prior to embarking on her teaching career, Ms. St. John was involved in the field of criminal justice. Having received extensive training in criminal and constitutional law, as well as education regarding the judicial system and governmental activities, it was a natural choice for her to become a history teacher. A love for learning drives Ms. St. John. She considers meeting with her former students as they prepare to enter the field of education to be particularly rewarding, and attributes her success to faith in God, an insatiable thirst for knowledge and familial support.
Ms. St. John earned a master's degree in education through the University of Phoenix in 2006—an accomplishment of which she is especially proud. She holds a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor of arts in criminal justice from Appalachian State University. A certified teacher in the state of Florida, Ms. St. John holds lifetime teacher certification through the Association of Christian Schools International. She is a member of the Council for World Affairs, a yearbook dedication recipient and a former chairman of the Gulf Coast High School Advisory Council.
