Belia G. 'Embres' McConnell Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Belia G. 'Embres' McConnell celebrates over 30 years in the education field
LOMITA, CA, July 10, 2009 /Coaching - Mentoring PR News/ -- Belia G. 'Embres' McConnell, Teacher (Retired), Substitute Teacher for Los Angeles Unified School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
With over 30 years of experience in teaching, Ms. McConnell has taken responsibility in mentoring, teaching elementary school students, working with parents and teachers, and training elementary student teachers. Prior to joining Los Angeles Unified School District, Ms. McConnell worked as an elementary teachers' trainer at Loyola Marymount University and as a teacher coordinator for the University of California in Los Angeles. She enjoys working with children and was encouraged by her teacher to enter the field. She attributes her success to the support she receives from her family, in particular her mother who encouraged her to enter the education field and father who served in the military.
Ms. McConnell received her Master's Degree in Multicultural Education (1977) and Credential in Administration (1978), both from Pepperdine University. She also has credential in Bilingual-Bicultural Education and is a member of the California Teachers Association. She is a recipient of the Outstanding Teacher award from Wilmington Park Elementary School (2003) and received Recognition for her Professional Service from the University of California in Los Angeles (1979).
