Cambridge Who's Who appreciates Joanne M. North for dedicating 23 years to secondary education
BONITA SPRINGS, FL, June 9, 2009 /Coaching - Mentoring PR News/ -- Joanne M. North, Retired Teacher, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.
Ms. North has 23 years of experience in teaching mathematics to high school students. She has been retired for 23 years. She was also the Department Chair for four years and was an adjunct professor of the University of Connecticut for three years when she taught college calculus. Ms. North became involved in her profession because she was inspired by her seventh-grade mathematics teacher and attributes her success to her family environment, values, upbringing and hard work.
In 1968, Ms. North received her Master's Degree in Mathematics from Wesleyan University (CT). She received her Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics summa cum laude in 1962 from Wartburg College, where she minored in English and Chemistry and was a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society. An active community volunteer, she has chaired committees, served several years as president of the neighborhood homeowners' association, edits the community newsletter, and runs a tennis league.
