Loretta Marie Stevens, M.Ed., Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Special Education

Loretta Marie Stevens is a Special Education Professional and Certified Autism Specialist with Warren County Public Schools, Front Royal, Virginia

FRONT ROYAL, VA, April 30, 2009 /Coaching - Mentoring PR News/ -- Loretta Marie Stevens, M.Ed., Supervisor of Special Services for Warren County Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of special education.

With an impressive professional background, Loretta Marie Stevens is considered an expert in the field of special education. In her position with Warren County Public Schools, she is responsible for instruction and curriculum for special education students and special educational programs. She is particularly proud to travel as a representative of the American Educators, a position that has allowed her to consult with fellow representatives in China and Russia regarding various education policies. While working as a substitute teacher, Ms. Stevens became involved in special education--an experience that prompted her to pursue two collegiate degrees in the field. She attributes her success to the support she received from her father, a World War II veteran. He encouraged her to work hard and reach for success - philosophies she carries with her to this day.

A certified Autism specialist, Ms. Stevens earned her Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Shenandoah University. She received her special education degree from James Madison University and her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Shenandoah University. Recognized as the Professional of the Year in Special Education by Cambridge Who's Who in 2007, she is a distinguished member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the Learning Disabilities Association of America, the Council for Exceptional Children, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the Virginia Council of Administrators of Special Education. She is also an avid supporter of the Special Olympics, the Therapeutic Riding Association of Virginia, Inc. and the Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome Foundation.
