Covente, LLC Executive To Publish Book on The Effects of Culture on Business Performance in Contemporary Globalism
"Business & Culture: Forces in Contradiction" provides model to enhance global business decision-making for optimum effect.
DETROIT, MI, April 22, 2009 /Coaching - Mentoring PR News/ -- One of the top executives of Covente, LLC, a Michigan corporation, announced his book about the effects of cultural habits on business performance in contemporary globalism has caught the attention of several potential publishers in Canada and the USA. Dr. Bryan Christiansen, the company's president, said the book is an extension of his doctoral dissertation in business administration tailored for the general public, although especially targeted for business executives. Covente, LLC is a new business development consultancy that provides its expertise to middle-sized firms wishing to expand or improve operations domestically or internationally in a global economy.
"The current global financial crisis has created the need for business executives to take a closer look at how their cultural habits influence decision-making capabilities, which in turn affect overall business performance in today's globalism," said Dr. Christiansen. Titled "Business & Culture: Forces in Contradiction", the concept for the book was born in 1992 in China when Dr. Christiansen was the Asia Region Manager for a well-known Swedish ERP software company that marketed the Scala product worldwide.
Christiansen said the book provides a model which business executives can use to increase the effectiveness of their business decision-making in an increasingly competitive global marketplace. "Many organizations are still trying to increase market share or profitability without considering the effects of globalization upon business decisions," said Dr. Christiansen. "We help such organizations by looking at the different factors that contribute to success -- or failure -- in contemporary globalism," continued Dr. Christiansen, a business professor at New York Institute of Technology. Covente mainly targets middle-sized firms in the construction, export-import, information technology, manufacturing, and telecommunications industries worldwide.
Covente, LLC is currently working on a major project in Bursa, Turkey, a manufacturing city south of Istanbul. The project aims to introduce higher profit-margin industries to Turkey to replace the ailing textile- and food-processing industries that have experienced severe competition from China and India since 2000. Covente is currently considering similar projects in Malaysia and the Ukraine.
