Columbia City Theater/The Pulse Project

February 26, 2009 /Coaching - Mentoring PR News/ -- Mission: The Pulse Project is designed to uplift and mentor youth in self-empowerment & self-identity via cutting edge technology and raw forms of self-expression

Pulse is an outreach program started at the Columbia City Theater in 2008. Diverse groups of people have been drawn together through out Seattle to mentor with the Pulse Project. Pulse is dedicated to working with at risk youth, ages 14-18 in an effort to teach the life lessons necessary to succeed with everyday struggles of life. At the Columbia City Theater, the Pulse youth learn from a team of highly trained professionals, Video Broadcasting, Audio Recording, Stage/Event Production, Marketing and Promotions. This fun and interactive learning environment creates a safe place for students to learn key life skills of HARD WORK, RESPECT, PROFESSIONALISM and TEAM WORK.

Pulse is working in cooperation with Communities in School and Columbia City Annex; Columbia City's Alternative High School to help with their goal of keeping kids in school. Pulse is one of the limited resources available to South Seattle schools for employment and professional development.

The Pulse Students have recently completed a production with Musica Entertainment children's health fair. Currently the Pulse Mentors meet every Sunday to continue the development of the program and curriculum. Workshops start again, April 6th, 2009. A variety of workshops for Arts and Entertainment based subjects will be held Monday-Friday 2pm-6pm. Registration for new students and mentors is held every 1st Sunday of the month at the Columbia City Theater located at 4916 Rainier Ave S. Seattle, WA.
